Quality Control Charts with Variable Sample Size

This paper proposes median and range charts with variable sample size based on Costa model of x control chart, working out the average number of samples to signal\tildexand Rthe average time to sighal for and R charts under the variable sample size. In the meantime, the author compares these charts with the fixed sample size and the variable sampling intervals\tildexand Rcharts.
