THE CHARACTERISTIC FUNCTIONS OF SOME SUBCLASSES OF SPHERICAL DISTRIBUTIONS

In this paper, we proposed a united method to derive the characteristic functions of some subelasses of elliptical distributions, such as symmetric Kotz’s type distribution. multivariate Pearson type II distribution and elliptically symmetric logistic distributions. Our result give a generalization of Iyenger and Tong’s （1989） result and a different form of the o.f. of Pearson type II distribution. Some related discussions are given also
