Abstract
A certain type of vernier caliper has 25 quality characterstics and will be classiiied as faulty if one or more of the characteristics are found faulty. Of these 25 qualty characteristics, 24 are inspected by sensory perceptions through eye-vision, hand-feeling, ect. though these quality characteristics are clearly stipulated with acceptable standards and each inspections has his own apprehension of the situation and may entertain a different opinion. For this problem, we shall first establish a multiple inspection model with errors, in which these are two types of errors: one typo is to judge the approved item as the non-approval and we write the probability as q; another type is to judge the non-ap roval as the approval and we write the probability as p. Every inspector has his own p and q. We shall estimate p and q by the principle of the least model and the inspector with the smaller p + q as the better inspector.
