Abstract
When no prior information is available, the likelihood ratio statistics for testing the maximum range of a reentrant vehicle are derived. The confidence intervals based on these statistics are better than the confidence interval obtained by symmetrically trimming the tails of some non-central t-distributions. Finally, for two commonly used probability levels of the maximum range, 0.95 and, 0.99, various sample sizes and confidence levels, constant coefficients, c1andc2, which will be used in constructing this kind of likelihood ratio confidence intervals, are tabled.
