Abstract: One of the most widely used statistical methods is inspection, which plays an essential role in quality control, in medical diagnostics, and in other scientific, productive and commercial activities. However, almost all relevant regulations or standards ignored the existing inspection errors which can be ruinous such that the obtained results are totally meaningless. This article reviews recent works on the effects of inspection errors involving mainly acceptance sampling and group screening with brief mention of related estimation and grading.
