Abstract: Spline function is a good tool for fitting curves. It has found its great applications in statistics. The spline estimates of regressive function, density function and so on have very good statistical properties. This artiele introduces the main results and ourrent situation of the smoothing spline method, which takes regressive analysis as a sample The authors also put forwards some suggestions and new ideas arising from applications in this field.
