Abstract: For a coherent system with independent components, Barlow and Prosehan in 1 conjectured that the system's reliability satisfies inequalities (5) and (6) for highreliable components. In this paper it is shown that the inequality (5) holds for highly reliable components, bat inequality (6) does not hold in general.
