Abstract: This paper considers Gnedenko system where the repair facility may fail and can be replaced by new one after it fails. The repair facility has an exponential failure distribution and a general replacement time distribution. By using Markov renewal theory and Takács, method, we discuss the stochastic behavior of this system and obtain the availability and failure frequency of the repair facility.
